What Products to use for Glowing Skin

What Products to use for Glowing Skin

In today’s world, skin care is a prevalent topic in the forefront of the media. With so many different products being marketed to us, it can be hard to know what works and what doesn’t.  Below I’ll take a closer look at what ingredients to look for in your skin care products and how they can help you achieve radiant, youthful looking skin.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a great ingredient  for luminosity of the skin.  This vitamin hydrates, brightens and smooths out the skin's tone.  Although you can get vitamin C in your diet through fruits, like oranges, you can also opt for a serum that highlights this nutrient.  The use of vitamin C will also help to protect against sun damage.  It is rich in antioxidants which give free radicals an electron, the main thing that causes sunburns.

Retinol

Retinol is extremely effective for working on fine lines, acne scars and discoloration.  This ingredient is effective at promoting cell turnover which leads to youthful looking skin.  Retinol is a type of retinoid created from vitamin A.  Retinol is effective at getting to the deeper levels of the skin and boosts the production of elastin and collagen.

Fatty Acids

Fatty acids are essential for creating fresher and smoother skin.  Although these molecules can be obtained through your diet, when applied to the skin, fatty acids increase moisture levels and can combat signs of premature aging.  These acids also protect the natural oil in the skin barrier and reduce inflammation causing acne.

Antioxidants

Antioxidants play a big role in keeping your skin oxygenated and protecting it from harmful stressors.  They do this by stabilizing free radicals within the skin.  Free radicals are created within the body but can also be caused by high sun exposure, pollution and other chemicals.  These free radicals cause oxidative stress in the body and hinders our ability to detoxify.
